On 9 December 2014 I attended Daniela’s graduate fashion show at Luna Park, Sydney. Daniela started interning for me in August 2014, and joined my team in the beginning of 2015. Her combination of talent, wit and down-to-earth attitude is rare these days for someone her age (and I don’t speak just for within the fashion industry).
Finding the details on the Raffles’ invite was a bit like breaking the Da Vinci code for me. What do you think?
If you are in fashion or know of things fashion, the highest honour in a fashion show goes to the designer who opens or closes. I was really proud of Daniela’s collection, which was selected to close the night!

Above: Backview detail of my top. The design allows the top to be adjustable to sizes 6 – 12.

Above: Quick shot of my outfit before leaving Luna Park at the end of the night. Photographer Julia Pavel informed me the sky at this time is known as the blue hour. The blue hour is the period of twilight each morning and evening when the sun is a significant distance below the horizon and the residual, indirect sunlight takes on a predominantly blue hue.
Above: Created this top using leftover lace. Working with leftover fabrics has become a big thing for me after 5 years full time in the fashion industry. It is one of the instances I am able to challenge myself as a designer, given that I spend most of my time being creative on behalf of my clients.
Details: The top features a fine French chantilly lace as a base, a 3d floral lace covers my booby zone and then finished off with a corded French lace trim. The skirt was made using a mid-weight textured cotton to balance the composition of lace in my top.
Above: I will leave you with this selfie of my camp bud Andy Trieu and I. It’s been harder to catch up with him with his SBS PopAsia commitments, so it was good seeing his face.
